Osteopathy Plus - services

Our services for corporate clients, "Osteopaths at work", include workplace osteopathy clinics and services for the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD's). This can be a highly effective stategy for employers wanting to reduce sickness absence costs and improve staff retention.

Consultancy days start at £375 per half day for up to 6 employees or £650 per full day for up to 12 employees, each employee receives at least 30 minutes with a therapist. These sessions are designed to educate individuals on maintaining their musculoskeletal health, provide personal back care advice and provide screening for those potentially at risk of musculoskeletal injury. Where appropriate and where agreed with the employer, the sessions will include the following:

Minimum requirements: A suitable private room no less than 9' x 7' available on the day(s) of practise. We will be responsible for all set up costs including treatment couch.

Cost options: The exact cost of a work place clinic depends on the number of (half) days that the clinic operates and on any additional services provided. However there are essentially two options:

Fully company sponsered clinic: Employer pays all cost as block payment for the osteopaths to be on-site on designated day(s) and times (minimum of one half day or 4 hours per week).

Subsidised Clinic: Employer pays a reduced block payment (for a minimum of one half days per week), remaining costs are met by the employee paying a subsidised fee at the time of treatment e.g. £15 per 40 minute treatment.

Additional services and treatment techniques: As well as standard osteopathic approaches our osteopaths can provide additional services and treatment techniques where appropriate, for example "mechanical traction, trigger point dry needling (medical acupuncture) electrotherapy (e.g. ultrasound) and our osteopathic massage / stretching routines e.g. "computer user's massage" ( - click on " treatments and services and scroll down to "Firm Touch" for more details).

Up to date with the latest trends in sickness absence management: We regualrly attend the "Health and Wellbeing at Work" conference held anually at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham. We are up to speed with latest trends and evidence regarding sickness absence, for example providing "fit notes" in preference to sick notes.

Professionalism: Our osteopaths pass through our rigorous recruitment process and are subject to ongoing training and review programmes. In contrast to sole practitioners our osteopaths function under the guidance of an experienced multidisciplinary managment team. Furthermore we organise rapid replacment or cover in the event of a therapist leaving, going sick etc.

Flexible treatment time slots: 60 mins, 40 mins, 30 mins or 20 mins, depending on the patients needs and work time table

MUSCULOSKELETAL DISORDER (MSD) PREVENTION, MANUAL HANDLING & BACK CARE TRAINING COURSES

Our courses are delivered by qualified and state registered osteopaths or physiotherapists with a wealth of knowledge and experience of musculoskeletal injuries. As well as delivering the course our osteopaths / physiotherapists will be happy to answer technical questions and give individual advice to those who need it. We strive to give participants a good understanding of the anatomical and physiological reasons for good lifting technique. According to the feedback we receive our approach greatly improves employee compliance to the guidelines and techniques presented. We aim to make our courses interactive and good fun ! Courses can be modified to suit individual company requirements where required.

Optional precourse site visit: We try to tailor each course to the needs of our clients. Individual company requirements can be discussed over the telephone or via email at the time of booking a course at no extra charge. Or a pre-course site visit can be made to enable our trainers to deliver a course highly specific to individual company needs, fees are charged at £200 for a site visit lasting up to 2 hours (+/- additional travelling costs for site visits that involve a long commute, additional hours are charged at £90 per hour).

Optional post course "Check up": For employers who are really proactive we suggest a check up a month or two after the half day course to ensure that individuals who have previously attended the half day course have properly understood the essentials on how to look after themselves when lifting and carrying. To allow time for re-correction of lifting techniques etc. this usually takes about 1-2 hours for a class of 15 - 20 attendees. Fees are charged at £200 per for a site visit lasting up to 2 hours (+/- additional travelling costs for site visits that involve a long commute, additional hours are charged at £90 per hour). - For large employers this allows for more than one delegate cohort from the half day course to be "checked" on the same day.
